Traffic safety

The figures show the number of seriously and slightly injured and killed in road traffic accidents per 1,000 inhabitants in the three northern Norwegian counties and on a national basis in the period 2012-2020.

The number of lightly injured has decreased during the period, while the number of seriously injured and killed has remained fairly stable. This applies to Nordland, Troms and Finnmark, and when we see the country as a whole.

High traffic safety contributes to good health and quality of life. It is therefore positive that the number of minor injuries in traffic has decreased. At the same time, further work must be done to reduce the number of seriously injured and killed in traffic.
